Do you or someone you know need an independent film reviewed?

Is your presskit all it can be?

Are you tired of waiting up to six or more weeks for a "chance" at being reviewed?

Do you want a fresh voice for indie cinema to disseminate your work of art?

While there are plenty of sites that do film reviews, many only accept features and are booked with 100's of submissions per month. It just keeps getting harder and harder for filmmakers as everything changes and gets saturated!  It would be nice to find a place that stands out in that world wide web which seems so vast, yet so limitedly cornered.

I have a quick boost opportunity for your film, with little exception. I won't promise it will bring you or your project fame and fortune, but will give a visible pat on the back and show off your hard work as a filmmaker, which ain't too shabby!  I can watch and review a film within 2-3 weeks, or less, and will also email you when it's published. This isn't like purchasing some fake award to show off only to fellow colleagues. I watch and review your film without fast forwarding.  You "could" have a friend blog review for you, but wouldn't it make more sense to go with someone apart from your production, who has a touch of publishing power and constantly growing following?  Filmmakers have seen me as a tool for exploiting their films, and that's cool!  As a filmmaker, I understand the need for this.  I've been reviewing films both with names and without names, but what matters is your film, not necessarily who's in it.

For now, using the Examiner platform, there's even an opportunity to comment around the review, between your colleagues and fans.  Just watch it, as I have a finger over the comment's delete button, incase it gets too out of hand!

Currently, there are tier based submission fees, but read the submissions area to understand why...before passing judgement and losing out on something you may want or need.

Who is this guy and what's his reviewing method:

Let me introduce myself: I'm Kenny Carpenter, currently Cleveland Indie Film Examiner, reviewing and writing about independent film. I also have made 2 feature films, so I understand what it takes. So far, I've gotten the attention of top industry execs, the art museum, film sales reps, cinema webzines, filmmakers from all over, and fans of indie film. Some of my articles have and will be published in popular cinema webzines, such as this article at Rogue Cinema http://www.roguecinema.com/article-1852--0-0.html . The search engine results I get are pretty solid, which helps gain the attention, in addition to word of mouth.

I also keep a scouting eye out for my rep and distributor for completed films that fit their needs, although it's pretty selective, so don't get that gleem in your eye just yet.  Also, once my reviews and articles start publishing in other webzines, I may pick a few reviews to re-publish, publishing entity permitting.  My current publications speak for themselves, as do the comments, which I govern for all.  Who knows what this can bring you, if not press for press sake....in the form of a review!

Lately, indie film reviews have been my focus, and have been demanded quite strongly in Cleveland, along with requests from productions in other states and countries. Since I started in film, features made per year have doubled from 4,000 to 8,000 alone. How many shorts are made compared to features??? Yikes, have they even tried counting?  Indies NEED objective, positive exposure! One cool thing....There's absolutely no reason why you couldn't quote me for your own promotional gain! Other filmmakers have done just that. Here's just one small example:

Style: My style is a mix of normal review with comparisons to trends and related indie film topics. It's part viewer, filmmaker, and analytical.  I tend to do a 75% positive to neutral critique, with the remaining 25% for any negatives, to allow objectivity when required. However, being a part of the independent process means I'm pro-indie and grade films on a curve with your fellow peers, while being tougher on multi-million dollar studio productions that should have everything perfect!  I tore apart Terminator 4, but that isn't indie, now is it?  I'm out to help indie film, not hinder it!

Here's one of my reviews, and you can sift around my articles/ reviews to find ones more closely relating to your project.  Websearches can find my articles, as well:
